ROSS, Frank A. - Putnam

Union City – Frank A. Ross, 77, died Sunday in Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle. He was superintendent of Union City schools 1946-55 and later was superintendent of schools in Plainfield and Greencastle. He retired in 1975. Before coming here he was superintendent at Rockport. He was a member of Gobin United Methodist Church in Greencastle, Plainfield Masonic Lodge, Phi Delta Kappa educational honorary, Putnam County Hospital Board, Cummins Mental Health Board, National Education Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents and Indiana University Alumni Association. He was a past president of Rotary clubs in Greencastle and Plainfield. Surviving are his wife, Lucilld; two daughters, Mary Musgrave, Charlotte, NC; and Shirley McCoy, Plainfield; a son, Don Ross, Speedway; five grandchildren and a great grandchild. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.
